Leti the Yeti

Campaign for Lumibird

Photonics West Countdown Campaign

To elevate Lumibird’s presence at Photonics West, a premier global conference for laser technologies, a branded ski giveaway was developed to increase booth traffic, enhance brand visibility, and symbolically connect Lumibird’s international offices through a shared enthusiasm for skiing. Designed using Lumibird’s visual identity, the skis served as a distinctive and memorable promotional piece.

 

To expand reach and deepen engagement, Leti the Yeti was created as a character mascot for Lumibird. Leti anchored an 8-week integrated marketing campaign across Facebook, Instagram, and email. This campaign strategically built anticipation for the event, strengthened social media engagement, and gathered customer insights on Lumibird’s product line.

To complement the winter-themed ski giveaway at Photonics West, Leti the Yeti enhanced Lumibird's marketing narrative and digital engagement. His character design incorporated elements of Lumibird’s visual identity, aligning him with the company’s branding while reinforcing the seasonal theme. His introduction across social media and email platforms featured the previous year’s branded skis, strategically reminding audiences of the returning giveaway and building anticipation for the upcoming conference.

6-Week Giveaway

The six-week campaign was executed across Facebook, Instagram, and email to build anticipation for Photonics West and drive audience engagement. Each Monday, a new giveaway was launched with coordinated announcements across all platforms. To participate, users were required to follow Lumibird’s social media accounts, like the giveaway post, and complete an attached survey. Surveys closed each Thursday, with winners announced the following day. A new Lumibird-branded prize and survey were introduced weekly, encouraging consistent interaction and sustained engagement throughout the campaign.

Leti at Photonics West

To enter the ski giveaway at Photonics West, attendees were invited to take a photo with the branded skis and tag Lumibird on social media, creating organic visibility and user-generated content. To further amplify the Leti the Yeti campaign, a life-sized 6-foot cutout of the mascot was produced as an interactive photo opportunity. Positioned alongside the skis at the Lumibird booth, the cutout served as a visually engaging element that reinforced the campaign theme and encouraged attendee participation.

Leti Continued

Following the success of the Photonics West campaign, Leti the Yeti has been adopted as an ongoing mascot for Lumibird. Serving as a playful and relatable brand character, Leti continues to support engagement across various marketing initiatives. Custom stickers featuring Leti were produced and distributed at additional industry events, helping to extend brand recognition and create a consistent, approachable presence for Lumibird.
